In collaborations with University Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Villaco has pioneered innovative drying technologies that reduce energy uses and improve agricultural efficiency. These projects are examples of research commercialisation that benefits farmers and industry.
UMS ECO-SOLAR DRYER
In 2017, Villaco Sdn. Bhd. partnered with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) to commercialise the Eco-Solar Dryer, a sustainable solution for small- to medium-scale farmers.
This system harnesses solar energy to create a controlled drying environment, protecting crops from unpredictable weather and contamination. Unlike traditional open-sun drying, the Eco-Solar Dryer ensures consistent airflow and temperature, resulting in improved product quality.
LAMB DRYER
The Laterally Aerated Moving Bed (LAMB) Paddy Dryer was developed in collaboration with UMS and licensed exclusively to Villaco Sdn. Bhd. in 2016 for commercialisation. It is designed to meet the high-capacity needs of industrial farming.
The LAMB Dryer is built for efficiency, capable of handling up to 2000kg of paddy per batch, using laterally aerated airflow to achieve uniform drying.
Patent Protection: Registered under MyIPO (Application No. WO 2016/060540A1).
Exclusive License: Commercialisation rights granted to Villaco on 23rd November 2016
